Milton Keynes Weekend

Good afternoon all,

This will be the last post in the FBBSO (Fatty boom Boom Starting Over) blog, which is the second blog of the Fatty Boom Boom Series.  I said at the beginning of this blog that I wanted to lose weight and concentrate on 5k and 10k speed and quality.  Whilst I have improved both my 5 and 10k, it wasn't by a considerable amount.  I have also put on weight and have had the same conversations that I was having this time last year having completed London Marathon.

So I am going to take some time out, concentrate on losing weight, and get back to enjoying running by running for fun for a while, no plans.  I will start up the third blog in the series in due course and you will be able to find it here:  www.FBBT3.blogspot.co.uk (Fatty Boom Boom Take Three).

That is the miserable bit out of the way, now onto the post at hand...

Victoria Park 10k

Good morning all,

Since my last post, I had to hang the trainers up for a few days, rest roll and stretch!  So in the words of the quote to the left, 'If at first you don't succeed... Try doing what your trainer told you the first time!'

Richard my coach and Sharon who does my sports massage are always telling me, stretch and roll, stretch and roll... but do I listen... of course I do, when it hurts, but its too late then, the damage is done.

So this is what led me to hang up my trainers on Wednesday 5th April and spend the few day following, resting, rolling and stretching.

Is Run/Walk for wimps?

Good afternoon all,

Yet again it has been some time, and yet again I can only say that life has got in the way!  Still, lets not dwell on my blog post-less mission but move on to my quote of the post... (Did anyone else just sing that like a radio jungle?... No? Just me then!)

Thank you Martin Luther King!

The Importance of a Strong Core

Good Evening Readers,

'Without a strong foundation, you'll have
trouble creating anything of value'
Erika Oppenheimer

I believe that this quote sums up the importance of today's message, which is running is not just about the legs.

Running with a Goal in Mind

Hello Readers,

My coach has often referred to me in the past as tenacious, I didn't even know what it meant when he first said it, in fact it just reminded me of Tenacious D and considering some of the things they sing about I was worried.

But during my journey to London Marathon it became apparent why he called me it....and this leads me nicely onto today's quote (stolen) 'Some people succeed because they are destined, but most because they are determined.'

Building Back Up

Good Evening Readers.

As I sat here thinking about writing a new post, I realised I have not given any quirky sayings recently, so here it comes....

If you knock a house down, you cannot lay 3 bricks and move in....  You will understand this as you read on....
